The exam is the examiner’s. The certification length — up to 24 months, often shorter — is the examiner’s call under the standards. SJCC does not change a card, extend one, or tell a driver they will pass.
Carriers keep the certificate and verify the examiner on the National Registry. A date in our roster does not do that verification.

Can the driver use any clinic?+
The examiner has to be listed on FMCSA’s National Registry. A general urgent care visit is not automatically a DOT exam.
